Venues Day 2019 Partners Announced and Tickets on Sale
For anyone who works in or with the UK’s Grassroots Music Venues, Venues Day is a key date on the calendar for coming together, discussing the sector’s challenges and successes, and helping shape what comes next for dedicated charity Music Venue Trust. This year’s event, the 6th national networking day and the largest gathering of small venues in the world, takes place on Wednesday 9 October at Islington Assembly Hall, London. With venue pre-booking already underway, tickets for general delegates go on sale this week, priced £120 – https://www.ticketweb.uk/event/venues-day-2019-islington-assembly-hall-tickets/9777905.
Venues Day is made possible thanks to the generous support of our partners, which enables MVT to offer free tickets to venues to attend.
Andrew Parsons, MD Ticketmaster UK
Joining Ticketmaster as major partners this year are The O2.
John Langford, COO of AEG Europe
Returning Venues Day partners are long-term supporters of Music Venue Trust’s work Academy Music Group, Jack Daniel’s, UK Music and Help Musicians UK. They are joined by digital ticket delivery innovators Fandragon and Fightback Lager, the beer company whose sales raise money for MVT’s Emergency Response service all year round. PRS for Music will be attending with a team who will introduce their new initiative Setlist, which MVT have consulted on, to reduce work for venues while still ensuring that songwriters are paid.
MVT strategic partner White Light are supporting Venues Day with their partners at Shure, Chauvet, Yamaha and d&b Audio. These companies, along with not for profit partners such as Attitude is Everything and Volunteer it Yourself, form part of Sound + Vision, MVT’s core programme for physically improving the nation’s Grassroots Music Venues to improve both audience and artist experience and make them more sustainable, both environmentally and economically.
The programme for the day, as every year, focuses on networking opportunities and practical advice for venues to take away and implement. Panels and speakers will be announced soon, together with details of all the one-to-one meetings that can be booked with experts in funding, licensing, planning, acoustics, architecture, business planning, hospitality, access, safety, sound and lighting.
We are delighted that the foremost UK booking agencies are showing their continued support for the day and will be offering one-to-one sessions between their agents and venue delegates: Paradigm, ATC, 13 Artists, CAA, Primary Talent, UTA, ITB, X-Ray and Pitch & Smith will all be there in force.
