Venues Day 2018 is SOLD OUT

Music Venue Trust is delighted to announce that Venues Day 2018 is now SOLD OUT.
Over 500 delegates, representing over 200 venues, together with key stakeholders in the Grassroots Music Venues sector, will gather at Islington Assembly Hall on Wednesday 17 October to debate and discuss, network and learn. This annual networking day for the people who run the nation’s Grassroots Music Venues is the only national event aimed at the sector, designed specifically for its needs.

Key topics this year include music industry practice, health and wellbeing, company structures and a presentation by PPL PRS on licensing. Long term partners UK Music return with a presentation from John Spellar MP on progress on Agent of Change and the next steps for venues, while headline sponsors TicketWeb deliver a special presentation A Deep Dive into Grassroots Event Attendance.

A combination of panels, working groups, presentations and one-to one-advice sessions offer a choice of activities across 7 hours. Venues Day contributors include artists, agents, tour managers, promoters, journalists, broadcasters, and a range of companies with initiatives designed to assist venues. From the venues themselves we have speakers drawn from across the UK to discuss the issues that matter to them and try to

“The ongoing crisis in the Grassroots Music Venues sector shows no signs of abating, with three further venues, Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, Talking Heads and Marshall Rooms forced to announce closures during the last week. Venues Day, now in its fifth year, is the key moment in the calendar when the music industry can hear directly from these venues under threat about what needs to change, and what steps need to be taken to protect, secure and improve the sector.”
