Music Venue Trust Receives Donation From AEG Europe
Charity continues to attract industry support
Music Venue Trust is delighted to announce it has received a significant donation to support its work from AEG Europe.
Speaking on behalf of AEG Europe, John Langford (VP/GM – The O2) said:
John Langford, VP/GM – The O2:
“So many of the artists we are lucky to host at The O2 started their careers performing in grassroots venues, which are a fundamental part of their growth, audience development and of the music industry in general. Music Venue Trust plays a vital role in protecting and improving these venues, so we are proud to support them and the essential work they are implementing and achieving.”
MVT Strategic Director Beverley Whitrick acknowledges the importance of industry support for the charity and for grassroots music venues:
Beverley Whitrick, Strategic Director, MVT:
“We have to build a coalition right across the industry, from artists taking their first step on a stage to the largest and most successful organisations, that can take action to directly support grassroots music venues. We are delighted that AEG have chosen to join that coalition. This donation will go directly to support GMVs struggling with licensing, planning, development and other legal threats, and it will make a practical and real difference to our ability to support these vital venues.”
Donations and financial support to the Charity’s Emergency Response fund enabled MVT to step in and prevent music venue closures in over 40 cases in the last twelve months.
